As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable waste management, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources โ Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Banga launched its โ๐๐ข๐ด๐ถ๐ณ๐ข ๐๐ฐ, ๐๐ข๐จ๐ฐ๐ต ๐๐ฐโ campaign, encouraging employees to take personal responsibility for the waste they generate every day.
Under the campaign, each employee is encouraged to bring a 1.5-litre plastic bottle to be placed on their respective workstations. Instead of immediately disposing of non-biodegradable and recyclable waste such as candy wrappers, sachets, and other plastic packaging, they were advised to put these waste materials inside their bottles throughout the year. These filled plastic bottles shall be transformed into office decorations and Christmas ornaments, demonstrating that recyclable materials can be repurposed into meaningful and attractive displays instead of ending up in landfills. Furthermore, the employee who collects the higher amount of properly segregated recyclable waste by the end of the year will receive a special recognition and incentive.
CENR Officer Forester Pinky J. Maglasang underscored that environmental responsibility begins with simple daily actions. She encouraged all DENR-CENRO Banga personnel to extend the โ๐๐ข๐ด๐ถ๐ณ๐ข ๐๐ฐ, ๐๐ข๐จ๐ฐ๐ต ๐๐ฐโ campaign beyond the workplace by adopting the same practice at home and inspiring their families to become more mindful not to generate more waste.
