Equipped with essential tools such as tongs and other snake capture equipment, the composite team from DENR Regional Office, PENRO South Cotabato, and representative from Wildlife Rescue Center, spearheaded by OIC-PENR Officer Dr. Rosalinda B. Cortez, Ph.D., and PAMBCS Chief Mangayao Macapodi thoroughly inspected both areas and noted several key observations and pieces of information were gathered including the need for clearing the area, removing accumulated debris at the back of the facility, filling up any gaps or holes on doors, windows, and walls that may serve as entry points for snakes, reinforcing doors and ceilings to prevent snake access, and installing barriers while also removing branches near fences to reduce the risk of potential snake incursions.

Sustainable solutions, such as planting lemongrass to deter snakes, and organizing orientation sessions and environmental lectures for students to raise awareness about snake prevention and safety measures, are also scheduled for implementation.

PENRO South Cotabato remains vigilant and committed to addressing reports and advancing preventive measure efforts. For any inquiries or assistance, individuals are encouraged to reach out to the office at any time through the hotline numbers: 09638279663 or 228-3502. (JEATRIN V. ORO)
